Threshold Beyond!

After the impromptu band reunion described in an earlier post, plans were made to get something together a bit more organised where I could actually play a drum kit. Whether or not these plans would ever materialise was a big ‘if’, but maybe the stars aligned in favour of fate as we managed to once again, break 30 years of inactivity and play music together again.

New Years Eve, 2011

Looking back on 2011 at 00:49 2012

So here I am, back again for my usual end of year rambling, as the bells have tolled at the Palace of Westminster once more, ringing in another pointless celebration.

A quiet night, spent at home with the Suffolk clan, so the house is fuller and with a more buoyant atmosphere than it would otherwise have. Of course, by choice, I am not gigging again even though the opportunity was offered. Where Did Those 30 Years Go?

It’s been a surreal evening – not in a bad way, but more in a, “well I wasn’t expecting THAT! kind of way.

It all started a couple of weeks ago when I made contact with a guitarist I used to play in a band with back in 1982. You know the sort of thing; look someone up on Facebook, discuss about getting in touch and see if it can really happen before life gets in the way. Well this time, things really did go the extra mile, thanks to a catalyst in the form of another blast from my musical past, Mr Gary Stewart Smith.
